Pavilion for a Pechersk international school in Kiev
Class for dancing and music. View of the south side
A very unusual and interesting proposal came to us from the Pechersk Management School. It was decided to build a spacious multipurpose hall for theater performances, concerts and school assemblies. The strucutre should also show to kids from different countries how to build with natural, traditional materials that can be easily recycled with minimal harm for the environment. It was necessary to insert a new building into the existing environment, maintaining the established comfortable situation and relationships among the buildings of the school. The pavillion has a wooden frame structure with straw bales filling, covered with lime plaster. Inside the walls are partially covered with plaster, partly in wood up to the children's height, also to put up exhibitions of drawings and photographs. |
